Completely forgot about the British Legion
Built on the site of an old house as kids we always thought was haunted,It was built by the members my brother being one having two long rooms one being the bar and the other being a function room. Not sure when it was built but after 1952 when my brother finished
National Service,it stood on Station Road just on the Heanor side of the railway bridge facing the then War Memorial.

Can you remember the house that was there before the Legion? Was it actually demolished to make way for the new building? Was it a large house, or just like the others along that stretch of Station Road?

I can't remember the Legion very well at all - has anyone got a photo? And can anyone fill in the more recent history - didn't it burn down eventually?
