Crookes second hand shop -top of Mansfield Rd-or Freds as it was known! Then it was taken over by son of Fred-still Crooks and they sold second hand musical instruments, records etc -eventually computer games. Now it is a Goth shop selling Gothic clothing , and "paraphenalia"! May still be in the Crooke's family.Next door to Freds in 1950's was a sweet shop which was run by an elderly lady-she used to be so grateful for any custom, as she didn't get much passing trade-or have much stock come to think of it!
