Shops in Langley Mill

PIPERS BAKERY -established in Langley Mill in 1884.They had shops in langley Mill, Heanor and Eastwood. The Eastwood shop was owned by Alf Piper and his wife. Alf used to drive the delivery van between the bakery at langley Mill and the shops at Heanor and Eastwood. The van was pulled by "Tommy",a horse who was stabled at langley Mill behind what was later known as Marshalls Cafe and Shop on Station Rd langley Mill
