Shipley Hall Dimensions!
replied on: 12/26/2005 9:22:58 PM

Visited Shipley Park and Hall remains over Christmas and became really interested in the Hall, hence I stumbled across this forum.

I have found theat the information posted on here is fascinating, but I have a thirst for more.

Anyway, my question is this. Are the dimensions of the Hall building marked out in stone correct? The rooms look really small, especially as I read on here the Ballroom had a great organ and the dining room once hosted a dinner for 60. There is no way you'd get more than 8 comfortably seated in that space and no room in the Ballroom for dancing.

My husband was involved in the excavation of the footings of the Hall during his school days, but the site looks totally different now to how it was then.

Do any photo's exist of the interior of the Hall?

Thanks
Scuby
