Interment at Heanor
The remains of the late Mr. John Geo. Steeples, ex-sergeant of police, whose death we reported last week, were laid to rest in Heanor Cemetery last Saturday. Sergts. Johnson and Hall headed the funeral procession, and the following policemen were the bearers: Police constable Bryn, Thorpe, Gee, Lacey, Nixen, and Sheperd. Rev. H. Gilgryst (vicar and R.D.) conducted the service in the parish church, also at the graveside, and gave sympathetic addresses.
