R&H 27 April 1913
"10 years ago Mr Thomas Abbott, manager of Heanor Gas Company shop in the Market Place, promised MrFred Lomax, hairdresser of Red Lion Square, when he scored 30 runs with the Heanor Tradesmen, he would give him a silver medal. It was only last week in a match between Heanor Tradesmen and Kimberley at heanor, that Mr Lomax succeeded in acomplishing the task. Accordingley Mr Abbott at Ripley on Wednesday in the match against Rip;ey Tradesmen fulfilled his promise and presented Mr Lomax with a medal. Mr Lomax suitably responded."
