The Martins of Marlpool Lane
replied on: 2/10/2006 1:31:57 PM

Quite a few emails have been swapped with the original enquirer. Marlpool Lane appears to have been Breach Road.

Eliza Hardy lived next door to the White Lion - can anyone with access to the 1861 census work out whether it was the Ilkeston Road side of the pub or the Langley side.

Thomas Martin's address was 13 schedules away from the White Lion. Again, can anyone help work out where that house may have been.

The cottages that were either side of the pub have been demolished for some years now, but it is not impossible that the other one may still be standing, as there are some old properties on Breach Road still.
