Tanner rush
replied on: 2/12/2006 9:36:29 PM Oh you youngsters-it was the "threepenny rush"! in my day! The cinemas in most towns had such a programme on Saturday afternoons-and the queues for admission were extremely long. Most of the programmes seemed to be more for the boys -Dan Dare, Hopalong Cassidy-and a "space" serial each week. If you were considered to be misbehaving, you were promptly hit around the head with a rolled newspaper by (who we thought was ) the manager of the cinema. |
