The family is well known and highly respected throughout the Heanor district as prior to going to Ilkeston to the “Queens Head” Inn he was for several years landlord of the “Nags Head” Inn Derby Rd Heanor, and organised a Music Hall there. About a year ago deceased purchased the “Rose & Crown” Inn Cotmanhay and left the “Queens Head” Inn only about a month ago. At that time he was apparently in his usual health, but contracted a cold, which developed into chronic bronchitis and heart trouble. The deceased gentleman was 62 years of age, and leaves a widow, four sons and two daughters to mourn his loss. |
