Jenny
I have childhood memories of Mr.John Arthur Frost.J.P.He was a real Gentleman, very much a lookalike of King George 5th.I lived at the bottom end of Thompson Street and although he may have been retired, Mr. Frost would walk to the foundry on most days, up Dunstead Road, down Thompson Street to Edward Street and then down the jitty at the back of our house onto Eastview Terrace (Penders Row) and into work. He always wore a fresh flower in his buttonhole which my sister regularly used to beg.I would only be 9yrs old then, but also remember Harry Frost, it may have been his son .I believe he used to live on Mansfield Road,a large house halfway up the hill on the left-hand side.
