Langley Mill Bombed during WW2?
replied on: 2/27/2006 3:23:26 PM

I have a piece of shrapnel three and a half inches long x one and three quarter inches wide x three quarters of an inch thick, alledgedly from a bomb dropped at the top of Thompson Street behind Dr.Holmes house in Godkin Fields. Date? I was told that this was embedded in the trunk of a large Holly tree in our front garden and at the time my Grandad was standing behind it.
