just searching my childhood memories 50/60's when I came more by accident on this site and read the mails and there you mentioned Pidds the Decorators, Les Riley (a friend)opposite Smiths Garage which was owned by Archie Fogg (my late Grandfather)one side was the sweet shop owned by Mrs Draper the other side was Lockwood the Butcher. E.Slater Glass who actually was based in Heanor to start with, moved to Langley Mill fair while later (Iknow know this because I am related to them) Fascinating to read after all these years way - Thank you
