Parsons, Meakin and Milner families
replied on: 4/25/2006 11:56:53 AM

Hi. I'm trying to trace my family's connections to Heanor. I have here what looks to be an official extract of records that show my 2x great grandfather, William Braisby Parsons married Emily Meakin in Heanor on 24 Dec. 1881.

Emily was born on 9 Mar. 1861 in Heanor to Thomas Meakin and Catherine Milner.

From the Taghill transcripts of the St Lawrence Baptism records, I suspect that Emily was baptised on 30 Aug 1863. This also leads me to believe she had four sisters, Mary, Fanny, Ann, Elizabeth, and two brothers, Arthur and Thomas Henry Meakin.

I'm trying in particular to trace things back past Thomas and Catherine.

Based again on baptism records, I'm working on the theory that Catherine's parents were Thomas and Mary Milner and that they had 4 other daughters, Emma, Eliza, Hannah and Mary.

In particular if anyone has any correlating info for the Milner or Meakin connections, that would be helpful to me.

Also, anyone who has any connection to the Parsons family in Derbyshire or Leicestershire, I'd appreciate information on them.

Thanks!
