Heanor Shops
replied on: 5/17/2006 7:54:05 PM

Those shops always seemed to be changing. If I remember right the milkbar didn't appear untill the mid 40s. There was a wallpaper shop, a shoe shop, Mr Hollingworths sweet shop and a jewellers who didn't stay very long. Just below there was a house which stood back a bit with a small showroom in front of it displaying bathroom ware etc. I think it was Mr Daniels a plumber. Below again was Hubbards chipshop and next door was a newsagent. There was a mens hairdresser somewhere there then a school and the Labour Exchange. So long ago Ice.
