Robert,
Never really knew but I think they may have been area related,
(Langley)Mill
(Bailey) Brook
? Lea
? Vale
Maybe last two as in Long (Lea) Valley (Vale)
Only a guess, I was in Brook House, not bad in Athletics, poor in swimming.
Our House Master was Mr Holloway.
Vale House always seemed to do well at the annual sports day which were held on the Cricket Ground every June.
The very last Sports Day was on Wednesday 24th June 1955.The GENT challenge cup was won by Vale House, the PURDY Champion Boy Cup was shared by 3 boys John Newton (Vale House) John Thornhill (Vale) and B.Judge of Brook House.
The Trophies being named after Mr.Gent and Miss.Purdy two of our teachers.
They were presented by the Rev.G.William Jones the Vicar of St.Andrews.
