Rigleys and Fletchers of Heanor
replied on: 7/17/2006 11:42:32 PM

It seems Dorothy and daniel died young -leaving daughters Lavinia and Elizabeth to be brought up by Grandparents and Aunt and Uncle.
In 1841 Daniel and Dorothy and their 2 daughters lived at Heanor Common and Daniel was a frame work knitter-a very common occupation in the area at that time

Fletcher is a name long associated with lace making in Heanor -Fletchers lace factory still existed in Heanor until not that many years ago.

I have an Eliza Rigley who married into my tree early 1800's.

There is information on this site (am trying to find it) about the LDS church -which existed in Eastwood Notts(a couple of miles from Heanor) before the church was in Utah!

Dorothy and Daniels baptisms at heanor St Lawrence church are on line -on the Taghill site -the LDS baptism for the dead would be because they were not baptised into the LDS church whilst living.
