He was cycling from Heanor offices down Mansfield Road and when passing under the Midland Railway Bridge his machine skidded, and Mr Pender was thrown violently to the ground. When picked up it was found he had dislocated his right shoulder and his face was terribly bruised. Dr Marson Holmes was telephoned for and quickly rendered assistance. 6th Dec 1907 Ripley & Heanor News Heanor U. D. Council Increase of salary denied Mr R. S. Pender having applied for an increase of salary as District Rate Collector, the committee recommended that it be not granted, as the amount of work did not justify the increased salary at the present time. |
