The majority of Colliery records are now kept at The National Archives in Kew. Type 'Shipley Coppice Colliery' in the search box and a description of the records held and their reference number will be shown, also the location of records not kept there e.g. Derbyshire records office.

Photographs and abandonment plans can be seen at the Heritage Centre at British Coal Mining Records Office at Mansfield. The staff are very helpful here, and a telephone call in advance to 01623 637233 (essential to book a film viewer) with details of your requirements will ensure everything will be ready for you on your arrival. Copies are available, but rather expensive.
