Langley Mill Central Methodist Chapel
replied on: 2/17/2007 8:33:00 PM Individual methodist congregations were grouped into local circuits: The Weslyan methodists, Primitive methodists and United Methodists each had their own separate circuits. In 1932 the Weslyan, Primitive and United Methodists came together to form the Methodist Church as it exists today. Maybe this is the time when the name was changed to Central Methodists? Maybe (as we thought previously) because it was the middle one of the 3 Methodist Churches in Langley Mill. It's strange,but the word "Methodist" only seemed to be in everyday usage when referring to the "Central".
