replied on: 2/22/2007 12:08:02 AM Robert, it was Mount St heanor . Charles was a Lace manufacturer most of his life -operating from Mount St -he also owned a butchers shop on Ray St-and when he died (at Ray St) he was described as a butcher. 1871 he was on Mount St and was a lace manufacturer and beerhouse keeper. 1881 still on Mount St he was just a lace manufacturer I think he had a finger in many pies (maybe literally in later years!!!!!!! he is a descendant of Nathaniel (Than) Hunt who was mentioned re the Methodist Chapel) Seyjane, sorry forgot to welcome you to the site-so welcome- I'm sure we'll be able to help you -and there's lots for you to read about the area where your ancestors lived. Daisy's age is correct on the 1901 census -she was much younger than her husband. Charles 1st wife (mother of his children) was ELIZA BRIDGET ALDRED not ELIZA BRIDGATE! on bAptism records Bridget (her middle name ) is transcribed (sometimes) as Bridgate -and other variations) 2nd wife ELIZA RATCLIFFE both wives died young Charles and both Elizas are buried in the same grave in Heanor (Marlpool) cemetery. Bridgart Allsebrooke Hunt - I think his father was William Aulsebrook -the name is transcribed in many ways, but the name Aulsebrook is a known name in Nottingham -he died the year Bridgart was born -but had been married previously -but don't think he had any other children. |
