1940/50s The Crossing Gates and Weighbridge operated by my next door neighbour Wilfred Skinner we lived on Milnhay
Used to deliver groceries to the cottages 1950 and one family had a son named Alfie who was (to be polite not quite a 10 bob note).The Minkleys where builders from Hilltop and started a yard on Cromford Road
and i am sure 2 or 3 years ago when one of the many fires since they closed, a report in the R&H included a remark by a director named Minkley
