Queens Head
replied on: 6/25/2007 8:47:38 PM

Hi there,
I've spoken to the owners and they tell me that the extension was originally built as a separate cottage, which would explain why the the pub is on two levels (upstairs and downstairs). The cottage was built about the late 1880's.
The new bit though is the top side of the original, which doesn't really explain why it looks further away from the main road on the old maps.
The owner has asked if anyone has any old photographs of the Queens Head, would they consider letting him have a copy, as he would possibly like to display them in the re-opened pub.
