Bethesda Methodist
replied on: 12/7/2007 12:15:45 PM The Bethesda Methodist Chapel in Loscoe was built in 1854 at a cost of £350 and was a breakaway group fronm the Weslyan reformers. At some time it was enlarged to seat 750 people. Known as the "Top Chapel" as it was higher up the hill than the Weslyan Chapel. It was sold to defray the cost of building a new chapel on Mill Lane, which opened Saturday 1st Nov 1980. The old chapel is now a store which sells aquatic goods, rabbit hutches and samuri swords (amongst other items) |
