Butchers on Peel Street

From Kelly's 1941, Lockwood, Frank and Son, butchers, 16a Station Road. No mention of anyone named Hartley as a shopkeeper in the list of traders for Langley Mill.

I suspect that the list would not be a complete listing for the area and may have had a vanity element in the compilation of lists. That is buy the directory or similar and you will be listed.

The Jones Newsagent connection for me is that Robert Jones and myself were in the same class at Aldercar SM. Robert had a double barreled surname which he did not use a lot. I have probably mangled the previous sentence but I think it makes sense.

regards Phil
