"Today I received copies of letters written to my grandmother, Nellie Elida HUNT Collings (1883-1961)in Idaho from her second cousin, Ellen "Nellie" MOON Shaw (1880-1954). These letters were written in the late 1940's and early 1950's from Challen House, 76 Fletcher Street, Heanor, Derbyshire. I would like to get in touch with any descendants of hers and her husband, Enoch SHAW. They had a daughter Dorothy Edna SHAW born maybe in 1910, who married a man called Rowland (surname not known). Let me know if you know of anyone who can help me locate members of that family. Also some of my family originated in Heanor. Thomas Browne was christened 11 Oct 1668 in Heanor. His parents both died there: Henry BROWNE d.7 May 1702 and Joane CHEETAM Browne d.25 Jan 1706." |
