His wide and varied activities also included orchestral work at seaside resorts and theatres, whilst no church or chapel anniversary was complete without his presence. Many former pupils will remember his prowess as a teacher, which brought out the best to those of high musical ability, whilst allowing those of lesser gifts to taste some degree of pleasure, which they might never have otherwise attained. Yet a further aspect of his work was his part in a string Quartette, which gave classical recitals for some years. The interment took place on Monday, at Marlpool Cemetery, the service in the Chapel and the last rites at the graveside being conducted by the Rev.
