West - Francis and Thomas
replied on: 4/4/2008 3:52:20 AM Thanks I remember my Dad telling me something similar, in a general sense why did families move around so much in the east midlands, was this quite normal, my previous research of the family shows (if it is correct??) that the lougborough area was where they stayed and resided at least until Thomas and Mary moved to Derbyshire around the 1860'-70's!! Swanick, Heanor, Hucknall and Creswell do they have something in common perhaps in terms of types of employment??? Frank's West SNR kids were a mix of births aswell, my Grandfather Frank Jnr and his brothers Fred and Lawrence I'm pretty sure were all born in Creswell, which I believe is closer to the Yorks border? Frank and Fred West were both Prof soldiers in WW2 Middle East theatre, Jack youngest was killed in Sicily, Body never recovered...I cna't fnd much on them, my family has very few of that generation left, My Dda has had veyr little contact with his cousins, he knows some exist in Notts and Derby, but we don't know where...will be good to look into that down the track, I have to start transferring all this data inot my Ancestry tree very soon, I have really hit the Jackpot with you Sue Are you an amateur or professional? |
