Mr. Strong was extremely short in stature, and could often be seen (or not seen as it happens) driving along in his car at around 10 miles per hour with just the top of his head visible above the steering wheel. It was always a source of amazement to me how he could see the road ahead. His right turn from High Street into Midland Road was a treat not to be missed! There was another man working in the shop in the 1960's named Peter, who I believe was a brother, but who died long before Tom.
