your night out 50s 60s 70s 80s
replied on: 4/10/2008 10:40:50 PM

In the 60's I can recall nights out at the Regal in Ripley dancing round our handbags. This was weeknights. Saturday and Sunday nights were spent going on the bus to Nottingham to the clubs there, the Dungeon, The Beachcomber, The Brit, The Boat and The Union club (at Trent Bridge) and occasionally The Dancing Slipper (West Bridgford) and the Palais. Vodka and Lime was my drink of choice (and still is). Also Babycham and Cherry B and Port and Lemon occasionally. It was very sophisticated to get a cherry in the drink with a little paper umbrella - we thought that was very cool.
A night out at the pictures was either the Empire or the Rex at Eastwood.
