Sorry if I'm going off the main subject but would this be the same John Holmes who was father in law to Edward Bonner?(pictured together in your publication "Around Old Heanor" It mentions beneath the photo that Edward Bonner lived at Highfields House, Marlpool at one time.) I'm interested because my grandmother Eliza Smith came from Bakewell to work in service there, I believe around 1907, and I've been unable to discover anything at all about her time there, her employer etc. I only know that Highfields stands at the end of Mill Road at the top of 'the commons' (the footpath leading to Lower Claramount Road) I just wondered if anyone has any knowledge to share please.
