Heanor Urban District Council bought "Heanor Hall and premises now leased from Mr Mundy" in July 1905.

The main purpose was the development of a Secondary School, but the building of a Fire Station was mentioned right from the start. The total cost of the purchase was £4000, for an area of 13000 square yards. Although that was in 1905, the building on Wilmot Street shows the date 1925. I don't know what happened in the intervenig 20 years.

I have also posted a message in the Langley Mill folder about a fire at the Pottery where Heanor Fire Brigade were involved, in 1940.

Hope this is of some interest
