replied on: 5/23/2003 8:07:10 AM If, and I think we are right to do so, we go down the route of looking at this as being the autograph book of somebody pretty well off, then the difficult to read name of "Cahert" is almost certainly going to be Calvert. William Calvert was the sone of the founder of the pottery at Langley Mill. By the time this autograph book was made, the pottery ran under the name Calvert & Lovatt. It would be interesting to know which Calverts signed the book. |
