Hopefully your post here may generate a bit of interest - as you can see from the front page, we may not have many members, but we have an awful lot of page visits - someone out there is watching us! The Bob Mee in Australia may be related to me - the Mee's have connections with Spondon, both well in the past and more recently. In fact one of my uncles emigrated to Australia - not sure if he had any children or grandchildren called Robert. Was he descended from the Carringtons too? The link between the Mees (or my set of Mees) and the Carringtons occurred around 1872, when Joseph Mee (my great-grandfather) married Mary Anne Carrington. My interest is more with local history, and more on the opposite side of Heanor, than with local history and Smalley, though both do interest me. In fact it was probably my research into the family tree some 20 years ago, and reading about old Smalley, that first got me on the local history trail.
