This photo has been passed to me by Jeff France - I hope there is a reader for whom it brings back memories.

Street parties were common at the end of the 2nd World War, but how many photos still survive? Any of the our area are of great interest.

Even if you don't have a photo, any reminiscences of the party, or of the end of the war, or of wartime in Heanor, would make fascinating reading.
