Church/Chapel Summary
replied on: 9/12/2004 8:40:10 AM Okay Now that we're starting to get some posts on the subjects, I'll list all the churches/chapels that have been referred to in the newsletters of the History Society. Remember that some of these may not have been in existence for a couple of hundred years already. I know that there is some duplication already, with churches known by more than one name. I also know that there will be the odd missing establishment - any information about any of them would be appreciated (perhaps under a new Subject Heading) So, here goes: Codnor Bethseda Chapel Codnor Breach Quakers Meeting House Codnor Castle Chapel Codnor Methodist Church Codnor Primitive Methodist Chapel Codnor St. James (Crosshill Church) Codnor United Methodist Free Church Codnor Wesleyan Chapel Heanor Baptist Chapel, Heanor Common (Derby Rd) Heanor Calvinist Heanor St. Lawrence Heanor Free Methodist Chapel, Mount Street Heanor Friends Meeting House Heanor Independent Chapel Heanor Mansfield Road Methodist Chapel Heanor Methodist Chapel, Market Street Heanor Methodist Chapel, Tagg Hill Heanor Pentecostal Church, Hands Road Heanor Presbyterian Chapel, Abbott Street Heanor Primitive Methodist Chapel, Park Street Heanor Salvation Army Citadel, Derby Road Heanor Wesleyan Chapel Langley Chapel (United Reformed Church), Breach Road Langley Friends Meeting House Langley Methodist Chapel Langley, St. Mary's Langley Mill Baptist Chapel Langley Mill Church (St Andrews) Langley Mill Mission Church Langley Mill Primitive Methodist Langley Mill Wesleyan Chapel Loscoe Baptist Chapel/Schoolroom Loscoe Mission Church, Denby Lane Loscoe Primitive Methodist Chapel Loscoe, St. Luke's Marlpool Cemetery Chapels Marlpool Congregational Chapel Marlpool Independent Chapel Marlpool Mount Zion Chapel Marlpool United Reformed Church Marlpool, All Saints Milnhay Independent Chapel Milnhay Primitive Chapel Smalley Chapel Smalley St. John the Baptist As I said above, I know that there are a few missing: Two of these are: 1. Langley Mill Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints 2. Langley Mill United Methodist Do you know of more? Wasn't there a Roman Catholic church at Marlpool at one time? |
