The Old Cottage
replied on: 9/25/2004 2:15:39 PM

Just a short way down the lane which leads off of Heanor Market Place to Peacock Town and Fall House, an Olde Worlde Cottage used to stand on the left, surrounded by its white paling fencing. It was joined on to the shop next door and stood facing Heanor Old Hall directly across from it.

As a youngster, i can remember my Grandmother taking me there a couple of times in the late 1940s, when she visited the old woman who lived there.
I seem to remember/recall the name 'Calladine', but i'm not certain on this point.

Has anyone any history on the cottage or its occupant(s) of around that time, or before?
Azzabuv.
