I have found a potted history on the internet, at http://www.fchd.btinternet.co.uk/indexh.htm.

I'll reduce it even further, and just say that the club was a founder member of the Midland Alliance in 1892-3.

Heanor Town have reached Round 1 of the FA Cup on 6 occasions, but have never got further than that. These highlights were:
1891-2 Lost 4-1 to Aston Villa.
1893-4 Lost 1-0 to Nottingham Forest.
1896-7 Lost 1-0 (on replay) to Southampton St. Mary's (now Southampton FC)
1898-9 Lost 3-0 to Bury
1958-9 Lost 5-1 to Carlisle United
1963-4 Lost 3-1 to Bradford Park Avenue
