thanks for clearing my fogged memory! Looking up that first cup loss though, I found that the 3rd round of the cup was already the quarter finals! So Heanor had got to the last 32 in the trophy. I also saw at the link you gave an interesting history of Heanor leaving and rejoining the Midland league!?
does noone know anything about it?
