In fact, i think you've hit the proverbial nail on the head - it was used by both bus companies. Whether all the time or only at particular times i'm not certain. Was this perhaps used by both of them as an emergency repair depot? Chiefly though, i believe the Trent company were the main users? Azzabuv.
