Hi, it's Mick Patrick's sister, Maureen, (known nowadays as Mo) what a fantastic website!!!!!!!!!!!!! I spent a very happy nostalgic couple of hours, trawling the site and remembering my childhood in Aldercar and Langley Mill.I have a good memory for trivia ie shops and people. Not sure how to pass it all on but my uncle phillip was the bookie in Langley Mill and my mum (Evelyn Patrick) used to work at P.P.'s Electrical shop on the corner of Cromford Road. She used to buy the Christmas trifle from Piper's just around the corner. I used to dread going to Charlie Spittals (the dentist)great name? Precriptions would be filled from Maxfields the chemist. I had a paper round when Sandersons owned the newsagent opposite the Mill. My round took me across the footbridge up to Pender's Row and finished at my house on Upper Dunstead Rd, where I lived. I won't go on, there is so much more.
Really enjoying the site!
Mo Watson
