Turn the triangler shaped area made by the three streets upside down on the old maps and you have a rough outline of the USA. Another long ago Heanor mystery solved - now there's just the others which are mentioned in Jennypeg's article. Grist for the mill?

Does anyone know where this area/location was in 1887 Heanor? Or it's modern name if it still exists?
It's mentioned briefly in the Society's Newsletter number 2 - March 1970.

It would originally appear to have been somewhere near the Park St; - Nelson St; area.

Perhaps after all's said and done, i've actually been to America and didn't know it!
