I would have to look at my dates etc but remember that Millicent, one of Robert Noon's daughters, married Joseph Rowland and they were living at the lodge house on Hassock Lane, Shipley (at the top of Long Lane). Willing to share that part of my tree to anyone connected and would be grateful for any information.

There may be further news on Annie tomorrow -as another contact is investigating a death in Ilkeston Sue, can you send me your e mail address -I have recently had work done on my PC and have lost most of my addresses -I have the newspaper info re your Grandfather.

I have her birth and marriage details. She was married to my (John) Henry Brown. I am told she attended the funeral of her brother at the age of 70 in 1934, but I can't find her death after that. Jennypeg Researcher	THORNHILL/NOON/CLAY of Shipley replied on: 11/26/2006 8:27:15 PM 29th Dec1911 Heanor Colliery mishap while descending the shaft at Shipley Colliery last Friday two miners Harry Lomax and Allan Thornhill, both of Fletcher St, Heanor, were badly knocked about owing to a slight mishap to the cage. The men were conveyed home where, on being examined by a doctor, it was found that no bones were broken. Both have however been ordered to bed for several days.

On page 65 it says ..... The injured were: Archibald Beswick 52 of Kingway; John Holmes 31 of Thorpes Road; James Draper 50 of Mayfield Avenue; Wilfred Noon 25 of Watkinson Street; Fred Winfield 30 of Ray Street and Samuel Kerry of Wellington Street Ripley. The Heanor men went to Heanor Hospital but were transfered to Nottingham General. Further it says ..... Tragically news came through that Bestwick, Holmes and Noon had died on Friday 2nd July 1943.
