Ernest Hunt's Grocery shop was situated halfway down Thorpes Rd; on the left-hand side as you travelled towards Shipley Park, or Slack Lane. It stands at the junction with Burnthouse Rd;
A lot of the Coppice miners, myself included, used to frequent it on our way to/from work, for lots of various small items. The shop itself was small and compact.
Whether Ernest Hunt still owned in the 1950/60s, i can't say for certain.
Azzabuv.
