replied on: 2/22/2005 5:23:53 PM Stainsby House Occupants - 1891 Census. Sitwell, Robert S. Head - Widower, aged ?4 - Bn. Derbys. Blackwell, Henry. Servant/Butler, aged 50 - Bn. Denby, Derbys. Wilkinson, Jane. Servant/Cook, aged 42 - Bn. Durham. Hunt, Elizabeth. Servant, aged 35 - Bn. Morley, Derbys. Brunt? Elizabeth. Servant/Housemaid, aged 30 - Bn. Holbrook, Derbys. Cockerhill, Agnes. Servant, aged 15 - Bn. Holbrook, Derbys. Annable, Samuel. Servant/Coachman, aged 28 - Bn. Coxbench, Derbys. Clarke, William. Servant/Gardener?, aged 15 - Bn. Breadsall, Derbys. ********************************************* On the Census form, the House is listed as in Morley. As a pre-teenager, i too used to visit the House on a couple or so occasions. This was in the company of Dr. Donnigan and his two young sons. Curiously, we three boys never ran into any pupils of the school/place, but we did enjoy exploring the large, lush, green lawns at the back. Outside the House, the grounds were very interesting, but inside it was so cold, with a gloomy feeling too. I'm glad i never went to that school. Wrong House. It's the Smalley one below which i visited. Azzabuv. |
