On the subject of Lovatts pottery, I have recently discovered that my g-grandfather was killed in an accident there in 1919.

He was apparently scalded in a vat of boiling water. The story is, there were some planks across the top which were rotten and a man fell in, my g-grandad fell in trying to rescue him. His name was Wilfred Wilson of Elnor St Langley Mill.

I'd love to find out more, are there any records surviving from that time, or maybe it was recorded in the local press? Does anyone know which newspapers were in circulation at that time and if any copies are held?

Any help would be greatly appreciated.
