The "someone who saw her" was a close friend of mine who died 7 years ago-she was also related to Amy-the fortune teller!
Have another tale-but will keep you in suspense..............

Opposite the Black Horse car park is Church Farm- for many years it was occupied by Amy-the local fortune teller(she was very good too)-and the doctor used to hold his surgery in Amy's front room a couple of days a week (nothing to do with the story-just a bit of local history to the days when Mapperley had a doctors surgery in the village). Apparantly the house was haunted by a little girl called Mary-noone really knows who she was, but Amy in the middle of a conversation would say "Go away, Mary-don't be naughty. Amy died many years ago,but as when Amy was alive, LITTLE MARY ocassionally appears waving in the upstairs window.A sighting of her is said to be a warning of an imminent death in the family.I know someone who saw her-and it did!!!

Anyone know a ghost story set in Mapperley?

I have just been writing a snippet for a future newsletter tonight, asking for more ghost stories, when it came into my mind, from who knows where, that I used to know one from the Mapperley area. Not sure what, but something to do with horses sprang to mind.

Might be a total figment of my imagination!
