St. Lawrence Church - Direction Beacon?
replied on: 4/5/2005 2:06:16 PM

From what appears to be deliberate planning by our long, long ago Ancestors, Heanor Church appears to be a straight line indicator to two other well know buildings in the area. Some would call this evidence of the 'Ley Line' theory. Whether it is or not, i don't know.

Due West, in a straight line, is Denby Church - 2.3 Miles away.
Due North, also in a straight line, lies Codnor Castle (or the ruins of) which is 2.2 Miles away. Actually, the end of the straight line ends 590 Feet due East of the present day ruins, or around the outside edge of the deep ditch area. Close enough by pre-medieval measurements?
Is all the above merely coincidence, or part of a carefully planned, architectural design?
Azzabuv.
