It was a fine courting area though, except for when everybody seemed to get the same idea at various times. Then the cricket room resembled an old Wild West frontier hut, under siege by the Apache and every other Indian tribe of the Indian Nations.- the swines.

Confession time, one of the tricks we used to get up to involved Shipley Cricket Club. It involved taking a couple of empty Babycham bottles from a crate and taking them to the beer off for the threepence back on the bottle. You did do it very often because thhere were not too many Babycham drinkers in the Marlpool area.
