replied on: 4/16/2005 4:05:28 PM It doesn't ring any bells with me, but it sounds right. Funny how it has a link with French (well, I see one!) In French, you don't call anyone "tu" (the normal equivalent of "you" but can also be translated as "thee or thou" until they give you permission, using "vous" instead until you are told to change. |

Does the phrase "Tha can thee me when ar thees thou" bring back any memories, anecdotes and other similar tales. I am not sure if it is local to Heanor but it is Derbyshire through and through. regards Phil |
