Just been talking to someone who remembers the houses (although derelict) being there about 25 years ago-further investigation is being made

Yes thats the one. I have resorted to using a Nottingham and District A to Z for street names. It's over 30 years since I was on the track. I would hazard a guess at the location being between the village and Head House Farm(name from A to Z). I do not think they were farm buildings because they were all the same size.

Before I ask around-to what road do you refer to as Slack Road/Lane? Locals call Slack Lane the "track" which goes from Coronation Rd to Mapperley brook. Is this the road you are thinking of??

I seem to remember 3 white houses, set well back, on the right of Slack Road (Lane) as you left Mapperley. They must have been about half a mile or so from both Mapperley and Slack Road. The story we had as (gullible)youngsters was that it was a Chesire Home. The three buildings housed people from the army, navy and air force so we were told.
Would anyone care to elaborate on this just to satisfy my curiosity and memory.

regards Phil
